drop it like it's hot

i have come to the conclusion that i greatly desire a fedora. i never thought i would say that but i really do. oh, consumerism at its best. this is the only one i found that i like so far.

it's from urban so of course it is expensive! so boo to that. forever 21 needs to start mass producing some different fedoras because i don't like any of the ones they have right now! i kinda want one that isn't straw though because if i end up with something like this one, i'll be like jason choi! ew korean. and everyone will say i'm a biter or something. gayyy whatever, i'm on a mission to find me a fedora!

well, i'm incredibly sunburnt right now. it's freaaaaking awesome, NOT. skin cancer here i come! i hope that isn't true though. i would pretty sad if that were ever to come true in the future. this past weekend was funnn, even though the boat was having a major mood swing. it would work for 5 minutes and then next thing we know, it won't even turn on. it was around 120 out in the nevada/arizona area by the colorado river. mmm, this is why i like california. it's warm here but nothing like laughlin. i would seriously die if i lived out there. i could not handle that immense heat in the summertime. i had mucho fun with my best friends though (: we need to go on more trips for sureee. anywho, i can cross off this now!

39. Arizona - river and boat!

summer school is almost over. when i say almost, i mean a little over three weeks from now it will be over. and when that's done, i'll be on my way to florida for some more heat except this one will include humidity. even more gross! but yay, i'm excited for it anyways.

okay, i'm getting tired so here is today's fun fact!
one brow wrinkle is the result of 200,000 frowns. danggg, that is a lot of frowning. it makes sense though since it takes more muscles to frown then to smile. so let's all smile more so we are less wrinkly when we're all 80 years old. wooot!

portions for foxes

my summer history class is basically half way over! hoorayyy
i should be getting an A. well at this moment and time in the class, that is how i picture it coming out. and let's keep it that way! it's not as bad as i thought, though the reading can get tedious at times. i bring that upon myself, however, since i take notes while i read. it slows me down tremendously but it helps greatly when it is time to study for the exam.

time to cross a couple things off my summer list again
well, they both got partially accomplished but hey, i'll take it!

1. Go to Hilltop Park in Signal Hill
this was only partially accomplished because when we arrived, it was after 10 so there was a cop blocking the road to actually park near the park and we sat at a different spot. it gave us a nice city view but wasn't actually where i wanted to go! oh well, next time, we will take the adventure to the park earlier in the day. maybe watch the sunset and the city begin to illuminate.

47. Boiling Crab & Joe's Crab Shack & Crab Pot
as for this goal, i only went to boiling crab so far. it was delish though! a pound of shrimp and cajun fries. quite delectable if i do say so! i can't believe people stand outside to wait for the restaurant to open. crazy people, though i was one of them too. i'm excited for my next visit there, sometime in the near future.

i want to learn how to surf! kelsey told me earlier that i should find someone who will let me borrow their wetsuit so i can go with her. the problem is...i cannot think of anyone i know that would have one fitting for me! boooo :( i know i would probably crash and burn in the water millions of times but i still want to make an attempt! you have to go so early in the morning though. she's going at 630 with scott, mash, mike, and swiss guy mark. i don't know if i could wake up at 55o to get ready for intense waves crashing into my body! maybe soon though. as for today, i will be catching some much desired zzz's while they are in the pacific ocean! one day, i'll just go with them and just sit on a board with kelsey unless mash teaches her and she becomes pro soon! then she can teach me too yay!

time for today's fun fact of the dayyyy
in 1895, the speed limit in NY was 8 mph. my goodness, that is so slow in today's world! but looking back, they didn't have fast sport cars or engines that can go from 0 to 60 in a matter of a few seconds. so i guess 8 mph would be a reasonable pace for the type of transportation that was normal in that era.

the game is over

so i am currently annoyed for reasons that i will not disclose. but oh my goodness. some people are just so irritating. i know i shouldn't even care or let it bother me but it does. i wish there were no such things as secrets and people would have no chance to be shady about the information they give out to others. the world would be very different. no speculation and assuming, which is not good for the soul. however, that is not the case and i will probably end up dwelling on this stupidity unfortunately. i'm trying not to think about it but i have that feeling in me that it will be lingering around for a bit. this is not healthy! maybe after i sleep, i will have rid myself of these aggravating thoughts! at least i hope.

anyways...on a happier note, today was pretty good. ate good food. drank boba. took cue pictures. hung out with several friends throughout the day. watched nysnc circa 2001.

okay, time for the fun fact of the day!
you share your birthday with 9 million other people in the world! geez, that's such a large amount of people with the same exact birthday. way to take away the magic and uniqueness of a birthday! it makes sense since there are over 6 billion people on this planet! but then if you multiply 9 million by 365, you get less than 4 billion. hmmm what about all those other people?!

peacock

mmm, i'm so tired right now and it's not even 9 yet! what is up with that?
well i have been waking up much earlier than i normally would for various reasons. monday, i woke up early to run! that was a fail though because we only ended up running a mile and then resting at anna's house for about 2 hours. it was incredibly hot and toasty! then tuesday, rose out of bed to finally volunteer at the VA hospital. it was somewhat boring, especially the first hour because we got no phone calls at the escort service center. but once that second hour came around, BAM! we received calls left and right. so the time passed by much quicker then. wednesday, i woke up early to go running with tiffany but then she couldn't go anymore so i went back to sleep. yayyy! and today, woke up to go volunteer again. today, we manned front desks even though we severely lacked the knowledge to assist very many people. i felt really bad because we would end up saying, "...uh, i don't know..." horrible! we need to get trained for that sort of thing. however, instead we just get thrown into the pool like a kid that doesn't know how to swim, struggling to stay afloat!

but anyways, i can cross some things off my summer list again! yayyyyyy (:

10. Irvine Spectrum
13. Volunteer at the VA hospital in Long Beach
21. Shaved ice from Guppy's
27. Disneyland summer fun pass
(well, i didn't get a pass but i did go to disneyland!)

it has been an eventful and busy week so far. this summer has been great so far. let's hope it continues on this path! and now, time to read for my summer history class. oh so joyful!

here's today's fun fact of the day!
children grow faster in the spring. hmmm, how interesting! i wonder why that is. it's like kids are equivalent to flowers, since they tend to bloom in the spring time. maybe i will look into that later.

chip away

so, it is time to cross a couple things off my monstrous summer list! hoorayyy

7. Play the piano more
53. Hang out with Jason Punzalan
69. Kogi!

there's one that i will not be able to accomplish this summer: 26. Soak City (free tickets). that is because my mom got a letter in the mail saying that they ran out of tickets (she got them originally for buying 4 new goodyear tires) and goodyear compensated by provided my family with 2 free concert tickets to shows at certain venues like the verizon or gibson amphitheater. i'm gonna check it out and see if i wanna see anyone playing at any of those places. it's a pretty good exchange i guess.

kogi was delish, i must say. i wish we didn't have to wait so long for it though! but it would be nice if it came down this way again before the summer is over.

tonight, i ate over a 1000 worth of calories at claim jumper with tiffany and cynthia. oh man, that black tie chicken pasta is so fulfilling! it definitely packs on the pounds though. the three douches, scott, mash, and jason, all got soup in bread bowls, which looked pretty appetizing, not gonna lie! maybe i'll get me some of that next time. it probably wouldn't be as fattening and detremental to my body as the pasta! sean's tri tip also looked quite appealing. man, i sound like such a fatty right now, talking about everyone's food! horribleness. food is like a win-lose situation. you win because you are satisfying hunger needs and providing your body with nutrients it needs. you lose because if you keep eating without working out, you'll end up like so many americans...obese! or overweight. or just simply out of shape! i refuse to become like that. hopefully, i will start working out on a more regular schedule. well, that's the plan at least.

alrighty, time for the fun fact of the day!
koalas and humans are the only animals with unique fingerprints. koalas are such cuties! i'm glad i got to take a picture holding one even if it cost me $13. i want one as a pet. it could totally live with me at UCSD. i mean, there's like hundreds of eucalyptus trees on campus. it would be lovely!

pineapple whip

i definitely consume an extremely large amount of yogurt from yogurtland. it's freaking amazing though. it made me like taro yogurt even though i despise eating actual taro. not a favorite of mine at all! anywho, there was a random african american man who gave my friends and i free laker t-shirts. cool i guess but they're extra large! i cannot wear that, except to sleep possibly.

i'm tired sauce for sure right now. i should be sleeeeeeeeeeeeping! disneyland was quite fun on tuesday! must upload pictures soon! maybe when it's actually a decent time of the day. maybe some public enemies in the afternoon? i love how tickets are only $3 at 4star on tuesday and thursday even if it's not the nicest movie theater around. $3 is still an amazing price to watch a new movie!

took the first summer school history exam today. it was oooooooookay. i was expecting something worse so i think that's why i was somewhat relieved when i took it. however, i'm not sure if i answered the questions thoroughly enough. i hope so! as long as i get at least a B+ i will be satisfied.

okay, it's time to catch some zzzzzz's. why is the letter "z" associated with sleeping and snoring and such? maybe i will research into that later!

fun faaact of the day!
the square dance is the official state dance of washington. we had to square dance at orientation. it was pretty lame, not gonna lie! hmmm, i wonder what calfornia's state dance is!

sooner or later

it all comes crashing down...

i was just listening to N.E.R.D!

i'm tired. 4th of july was goooooooood. got to see family and friends! yay

i need to start studying for my history exam! i am really feeling lazy though. but i think i'm gonna start after i finish this blog.

took cue pics twice last week! oh man, so much of my money has gone to those freaking little pictures. they are so fun though! i love decorating them even if i have no clue to put or write on them. i'm pretty sure i wll take many more this summer!

there are about 10 bug bites scattered throughout my body. it's so annoying. and itchy. and bothersome. i want it to disappear! go awayyyyy bug bites. leave me please? i don't even know where you came from. must resist the urge to scratch!

anyways, this week seems like it will be a busy one! studying is a priority, even if i am putting it off at this very moment. also, there is mindy's dinner manana, disneyland on thursday i believe, finally getting all the volunteer stuff done so i can actually begin volunteering, eating of course, seeing friends as well. there's more! i'm pretty sure. aaaaaaaaaaaaand, going to the river in a couple weeks! so excited! finallllly! i haven't been in a while. i've missed it so. there's a chance i may get a tan, after getting a nasty sunburn beforehand of course.

time for the fun fact of the day!
in a year, the average person walks 4 miles while making their bed! that's insane. 4 miles is a significant amount to just walk. i never thought about that before. it does make sense though. for 365 days, you walk back and forth around your bed to make it so it would have to be quite a long distance. but that is pretty random! i wonder who actually measured and kept track of this.

labbit!

i want it! its so freaking cute. i saw it at urban a few weeks ago. it's cool and random how they sell some kidrobot stuff. someone should get me this for...an early 2oth birthday present! or for christmas yeahhh :]

anyways, its july! summer is going by somewhat slow but that's not necessarily a bad thing. i need to focus more on summer school work though. ehh, it's so boring! but i just keep telling myself it's worth it to get it over with now so i won't have to take it back at UCSD and i will be done with GEs faster.

well, i took a polaroid tonight, err last night, so i can cross off:

23. Take some polaroid pictures!

technically, i only took one so far this summer but i'm sure i will take a couple more at least! i love how they appear to worn and "vintage" in a sense but in reality they are brand new!

anywho, i'm tired sauce and i'm gonna try to sleep soon!
so here's a fun fact of the day!
a male kangaroo is called a boomer. is a boomerang named after a male kangaroo? i don't see any correlation though. so i'm gonna go out on a limb and say no? but i wouldn't know for sure.
